Zoning Resolution Spotlight: Section 502 - Parking Trailers, Recreational Vehicles, & Mobile Homes




This section references the parking and storage of utility trailers, recreational vehicles, mobile homes, campers, boats, etc. The full code can be viewed here.


Here is a summary:


Utility trailers, recreational vehicles, mobile homes, campers, boats, etc. are allowed to be parked and stored INSIDE or REAR yards only and must be at least 15 feet from the property lines.


They must be maintained in operable condition.


There is a limit of two such vehicles out in the open. All others must be in an enclosed shed, garage, or barn.


Recreational Vehicles, Travel Trailers and Campers can be used as temporary dwellings for recreational purposes only, must be maintained in operable state, and not become a nuisance to the surrounding area.


Mobile homes can only be parked and USED in R-4 districts


Temporary parking of a trailer incidental to a construction project is allowed, with a permit, for up to 1 year, but cannot be used as living quarters.
